Potential Benefits

Pre-Treatment Instructions
- Advise our nurses if you are taking blood-thinning medications (e.g. aspirin, warfarin, clopidogrel, etc).
- Avoid chemical peels and skin needling 1 week prior.
- Avoid blood thinning agents (unless otherwise advised by a doctor) for 72 hours prior.
- Do not consume alcohol 24 hours prior to treatment.
- Shave the treatment area if required 24 hours prior to treatment.
What to expect post-treatment
- Remain upright for 4 hours after injections.
- Take paracetamol as needed for pain management.
- Anti-wrinkle Injections can take up to 2-14 days for the muscle relaxant to work. Expected side effects may include: bruising, swelling, redness, bumpiness, headache.
Post-Treatment Instructions
- No exercise for 48 hours.
- Avoid temperature extremes for 48 hours post treatment.
- Avoid pressure on the area for 48 hours (e.g. helmets, hard hats, goggles, etc making contact on the areas).
- Avoid high pressure environments for 72 hours post treatment (e.g. long haul flights, diving, etc.).
- Avoid facial treatments for 2 weeks post treatment (e.g. no microdermabrasion, peels, laser treatments, facials, waxing etc.)
- When cleansing and doing skin routines: use a gentle upwards motion away from the eyes to avoid brow/eyelid drop.
- A mandatory review appointment will be scheduled with your cosmetic injector, set for 2 weeks after the date of your treatment.

How long does this treatment take?

Anti-wrinkle injections are a quick, in and out treatment. Treatment time is dependent on the area being treated however usual treatment time is approximately 30 to 45 minutes.
What is the recovery time for this treatment?

There is minimal to no recovery time with Anti-wrinkle injections and you should be able to go about your day straight after treatment. We do ask you not to wear makeup for 4 hours post treatment and to not partake in strenuous exercise for 24 hours post treatment. We do have an aftercare program to help you to ensure optimal results from your treatment and these can be discussed with your Nurse or Dr.
How long before I see results?

You can expect to start seeing results within 2-3 days after your treatment and full effect within 2-14 days. Anti-wrinkle injections last on average 3 – 4 months however results may vary depending on the individual.
Can I have this treatment if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?

Your safety is our main concern and for this reason, we advise against cosmetic injectable and medical grade treatments whilst pregnant, simply out of precaution and due to the lack of information available on effects on the fetus. However, there are no conclusive studies on these treatments being safe or unsafe for pregnant or breastfeeding women. If you have any concerns about a treatment, please consult your doctor before proceeding.
