Pre-Treatment Instructions
- Advise our nurses if you are taking blood-thinning medications (e.g. aspirin, warfarin, clopidogrel, etc).
- Avoid having any dental work for 2 weeks prior to your treatment.
- You must have no active herpes simplex. Prepare 72 hours prior to the treatment with antiviral medication if needed.
- Avoid chemical peels and skin needling 1 week prior.
- Avoid blood thinning agents (unless otherwise advised by a doctor) for 72 hours prior.
- Avoid temperature extremes for 72 hours prior (e.g. spas, sauna, hot
  showers, cold rooms, sunbathing, etc).
- Do not consume alcohol 24 hours prior to treatment.
- Shave the treatment area if required 24 hours prior to treatment.
What to expect post-treatment
- Expected side effects may include: bruising, swelling, redness, bumpiness, mild pain to the area, numbness, and itching. Swelling and mild discomfort are normal side effects for this treatment and are not typically a cause for a medical emergency.
- Do not rub or massage the treated area LED Healite Therapy may be used to help manage & prevent swelling and bruising.
- Take paracetamol as needed for pain management.
Post-Treatment Instructions
- No exercise for 48 hours.
- Avoid temperature extremes for 48 hours post treatment.
- Avoid high pressure environments for 72 hours post treatment (e.g. long haul flights, diving, etc.).
- Avoid pressure on the area for 2 weeks (e.g. no facial massage, helmets, hard hats, goggles, etc making contact on the areas).
- Avoid other skin treatments for 2 weeks post treatment (e.g. no microdermabrasion, peels, laser treatments, facials, etc.)
- Avoid having any dental work for 2 weeks post treatment.
- A mandatory review appointment will be scheduled with your cosmetic injector, set for 4 weeks after the date of your treatment.

Can I have this treatment if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?

Your safety is our main concern and for this reason, we advise against cosmetic injectable and medical grade treatments whilst pregnant, simply out of precaution and due to the lack of information available on effects on the fetus. However, there are no conclusive studies on these treatments being safe or unsafe for pregnant or breastfeeding women. If you have any concerns about a treatment, please consult your doctor before proceeding.
How long does this treatment take?

Treatment time is dependent on the specific area and number of areas being treated.
What is the recovery time for this treatment?

Dermal Filler injections have minimal recovery time and you can generally continue with your day as normal afterward. You can expect to experience some redness and slight bruising in the area. However, these will subside within a few hours, or days if you tend to bruise heavily.
Is this treatment painful?

Pain tolerance generally varies among patients, we do however offer a range of anaesthetic options to assist with pain. Every injection of Dermal Filler has a small dose of anaesthetic and topical numbing is available in all of our clinics.
How long before I see results?

Dermal Filler treatment results can be seen immediately, however, these results continue to develop gradually over the next 2-4 weeks. Treatment results can last anywhere between 6-12 months depending on a variety of factors, including your metabolism and how quickly your body absorbs the product. Optimal results are seen over a longer period of time with regular repeat treatments.
