The Lipo Dissolve chin and jowl sculpting treatment works by dissolving under the chin fat or pockets of fat under the jawline. Deoxycholic acid occurs naturally in the body and helps to break down dietary fat by disrupting the adipocyte and lipocyte membranes. The fat cells are then released into the body which is absorbed by the body’s natural flushing systems. This revolutionary solution is injected in multiple points below the chin directly into the submental chin fat. The solution then works to break down the fat over the next few weeks, leaving a more contoured neck profile and jawline. Deoxycholic acid is a naturally occurring acid in the body making the procedure safe, effective and permanent.

Pre-Treatment Instructions
- Advise our nurses if you are taking blood-thinning medications (e.g. aspirin, warfarin, clopidogrel, etc).
- You must have no active herpes simplex. Prepare 72 hours prior to the treatment with antiviral medication if needed.
- Avoid chemical peels and skin needling 1 week prior.
- Avoid blood thinning agents (unless otherwise advised by a doctor) for 72 hours.
- Avoid temperature extremes for 72 hours prior (e.g. spas, sauna, hot showers, cold rooms, sunbathing, etc).
- Do not consume alcohol 24 hours prior to treatment.
- Shave the treatment area if required 24 hours prior to treatment.
What to expect post-treatment
- Remain upright for 4 hours after injections.
- Take paracetamol as needed for pain management.
- Expected side effects may include: bruising, swelling, redness, bumpiness, mild pain to the area.
Post-Treatment Instructions
- No exercise for 48 hours.
- Avoid temperature extremes for 48 hours post treatment.
- Avoid pressure on the areas for 2 weeks (e.g. no facial massage, helmets, hard hats, goggles, etc making contact on the areas).
- Avoid other skin treatments for 2 weeks post treatment (e.g. no microdermabrasion, peels, laser treatments, facials, etc.)
- A mandatory review appointment will be scheduled with your cosmetic injector, set for 2 weeks after the date of your treatment.

Can I have this treatment if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?

Your safety is our main concern and for this reason, we advise against cosmetic injectable and medical grade treatments whilst pregnant, simply out of precaution and due to the lack of information available on effects on the fetus. However, there are no conclusive studies on these treatments being safe or unsafe for pregnant or breastfeeding women. If you have any concerns about a treatment, please consult your doctor before proceeding.
How long does this treatment take?

After an initial consultation to discuss your goals and suitability to the treatment you can then expect the treatment to be approximately 1 hour.
What is the recovery time for this treatment?

You will be able to return to business as usual following your treatment. However, it is important to avoid strenuous exercise and sweating for the next few days. You may experience some bruising or swelling, however, these will subside. The expected downtime for this treatment is 4-6 weeks.
How long before I see results?

Depending on the number of sessions required to reach your goal, result times will vary. However, you will see a noticeable difference in 4-6 weeks after any residual swelling has subsided. We recommended 2 sessions, set 6 – 12 weeks apart to see optimal results.
