What does it do?

Laser Capillary Reduction is the perfect treatment for you if you are looking to remove unwanted red veins and broken capillaries. This treatment is safe and non-invasive requiring minimal downtime.

Broken veins or capillaries occur when the capillaries are dilated and damaged, just beneath your skin’s surface. This results in small, red lines that spread out into either a web-shaped form, a papular formation or cluster. While harmless, we understand broken capillaries can become a nuisance and impact your self confidence.

The advanced, Medical Grade Laser Technology increases the production of collagen and uses the heat from the laser to target capillary vessels and reveal an even, clearer complexion. Our dermal and laser therapists main goal is to have you leave the clinic feeling confident again, they will customise this treatment to your skin concerns helping you achieve your desired results.

Pre-Treatment Instructions
- A thorough skin consultation must be completed by one of our Laser Therapists to ensure suitability for treatment.
- Advise our nurses if you are taking blood-thinning medications (e.g. aspirin, warfarin, clopidogrel, etc).
- We ask that you have had a skin check completed by your GP within the last 12 months.
- Advise your therapist of recent antibiotic use.
- Advise your therapist of any acne medication use within the last 12 months.
- Advise your therapist if you have an active cold sore or are prone to cold sores.
- You must have no active herpes simplex. Prepare 72 hours prior to the treatment with antiviral medication if needed.
- Skin must be prepped for at least 2-4 weeks prior using your Lira Clinical product program.
- Avoid prescription retinoids/Vitamin A for 2 weeks prior to your treatment.
- No injectable treatments in the past 2 weeks (anti-wrinkle and filler).
- Please note the treatment cannot be performed if you have had a PDO threads treatment in the last 3-4 months.
- No sun exposure, no fake tan, no gradual tan in the treatment area within 2 weeks of treatment.
- Do not wax, or use depilatory cream over the treatment area for 2 weeks prior.
- Avoid invasive laser treatments or laser hair removal 1 week prior to treatment.
What to expect post-treatment
- Possible redness and swelling.
- Possible darkening of the treated blood vessel.
- Bruising, swelling and redness are common and will resolve within 3-10 days.
Post-Treatment Instructions
- Flaking of the skin may occur for up to a week post treatment, avoid picking or scratching the treated area.
- SPF 30+ must be applied for the days following your treatment.
- Lira Clinical Pro Lite Serum to be used morning and night time ongoing.
- Optiphi Post Stress Serum to be used for 5 days or until redness subsides.
- Continue use of active ingredients 5-7 days post treatment.
- Gentle exfoliation on day 7 post treatment.
- Avoid exercise and heat based activities for 48 hours.
- Avoid alcohol for 24 hours.
- Avoid facial waxing or hair removal treatments for 1 week post treatment.
- Avoid sun exposure for at least 2 weeks to avoid returning capillaries.

Can I have this treatment if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?

Your safety is our main concern and for this reason, we advise against cosmetic injectable and medical grade treatments whilst pregnant, simply out of precaution and due to the lack of information available on effects on the fetus. If you have any concerns about a treatment, please consult your doctor before proceeding.
What is the recovery time for this treatment?

This treatment has minimal downtime, you can expect some redness, slight swelling and darkening of some bigger red veins. You are able to apply make up after the treatment.
How many treatments do I need?

We recommend a minimum of 2-3 treatments, in combination with other skin strengthening treatments to see substantial and effective results.
How long does this treatment take?

Treatment time is entirely dependent on the size of the area being treated.
