What does it do?

Skin Needling is a cosmetic procedure using pinpoint micro needles to create small channels within the skin. Controlling injury promotes the skin’s natural ability to heal and encourages the production of new collagen and elastin. This treatment helps to improve your overall skin texture, tone and clarity as well as smooth wrinkles, fine lines and soften scarring.

At Brisbane Skin & Laser Clinics we personalise your treatment to your skin concerns using compounded mesotherapy serums. Mesotherapy is a process of combining hyaluronic acid or pre-mixed growth factor cocktails with plasma-rich platelets to accelerate and achieve better results in a shorter space of time.

Pre-Treatment Instructions
- A thorough skin consultation must be completed by one of our Dermal Therapists to ensure suitability for treatment.
- Advise your therapist of recent antibiotic use.
- Advise your therapist of any acne medication use within the last 12 months.
- Advise your therapist if you have an active cold sore or are prone to cold sores.
- We can tailor this treatment if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- If you have an upcoming event, do not schedule your treatment within 2 weeks of your event.
- Avoid cosmetic injectable treatments for 2 weeks prior to your treatment.
- Avoid prescription retinoids/Vitamin A for 2 weeks prior to your treatment.
- Avoid anti-inflammatory/blood thinning medications, for a week prior to your treatment, please consult with your doctor if you take these on a regular basis.
- Avoid invasive laser treatments or laser hair removal 1 week prior to treatment.
- Avoid alcohol for 24 hours prior to treatment.
What to expect post-treatment
- Redness or pin-point markings immediately after treatment for up to 12 hours.
- Slight swelling immediately after treatment, this can last a few hours.
- Breakouts may occur if you have underlying congestion within the skin.
- Skin may experience flaking or shedding, do not pick or scratch.
Post-Treatment Instructions
- Avoid touching the treated area for 6 hours post treatment.
- Avoid anti-inflammatory/blood thinning medications immediately after treatment.
- Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours.
- Please do not apply make-up for the day and night of your treatment, if you need coverage we can apply medical grade makeup to your skin post treatment.
- SPF 30+ must be applied for the days following your treatment.
- Continue use of active ingredients 5-7 days post treatment.
- Avoid facial waxing or hair removal treatments for 1 week post treatment.

Can I have this treatment if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?

Your safety is our main concern and for this reason, we advise against cosmetic injectable and medical grade treatments whilst pregnant, simply out of precaution and due to the lack of information available on effects on the fetus. If you have any concerns about a treatment, please consult your doctor before proceeding.
How long does this treatment take?

Your treatment booking is for 60 minutes.
How long before I see results?

When completing a skin needling series, we recommend a minimum of 4 – 8 treatments for best results. This treatment can be used in combination with other services, we recommend a treatment plan for a minimum of 3 months with regular treatments and homecare products.
